One Day To Go!
Fri, 24 Jun 2011
The Isle of Wight is like a microcosmos of England but with more sunshine! The climate is great and the people are enthusiastic about the challenge they have taken on. Tomorrow the Opening Ceremony of the NatWest Island Games XIV will take place. Hundreds of volunteers will make sure that their guests from the 24 Member Islands will have a welcome they will never forget. There will be singing and dancing and a few short speeches. After the Ceremony everything will be in place for a week of sport - records will be broken and friendships will begin. The beauty of the Friendly Games is that although everyone will try their utmost to win in their competitions what really counts are the many friendships that will begin. Friendship is for ever.
The Isle of Wight is ready for an intense week of sport. Are you?
