NatWest Island Games Goes next to Bermuda
Tue, 28 Jun 2011
Tuesday 28th June. Today is the most important day of the year for the International Island Games Association. The Annual General Meeting will take place in the Lakeside Park Hotel, Isle of Wight. The 24 Member Islands will be present to discuss and decide the affairs of the Association. Amongst the items that will be discussed is the Future of the Games Report which the Executive Committee, and in particular Treasurer Eric Legg, has worked very hard on.
Yesterday was a day full of action. Bermuda held it's information/reception on the NatWest Island Games XV which will take place in 2013. All the Member Islands attended to learn more about travel and accommodation to that sunny island. The Games in Bermuda will be unique in many senses. The journey itself, the beautiful and colourful island, the friendly people and most important the world class sports venues. We are looking forward to the chance of a lifetime to learn more about Bermuda.
Yesterday there was also an exciting football match between Gibraltar and Ynys Mon. The two teams produced extraordinarily entertaining football, full of passion but with a common understanding. The match ended 6-3 to Gibraltar.
