Previous Host Islands Share Their Experience on the Legacy of the Games
Mon, 20 May 2013
A new page about the Legacy of the Games (www.iiga.org/legacy) has been added to the IIGA website to highlight the legacy of hosting the NatWest Island Games in order to assist future Host Islands and show Member Islands' Governments what can be gained from hosting a Games.
The NatWest Island Games has always been about more than the delivery of an outstanding sporting event. The Games leave behind more than just good memories and friendships from a week of great sporting competition. The new section of the website provides information about the benefits of hosting the NatWest Island Games for both the Host Island and the local community.
At the moment a Legacy Report by the Faore Islands, the Host of the 1989 Games, can be found on the page. A questionnaire has been sent to all previous Host Islands and their reports are expected shortly when they will also be added to the legacy page.
