Focus on Jersey for 2015

Recent article in the Jersey Evening Post following the NatWest island Games XV in Bermuda:
The wonderful island of Jersey is up for a challenge! The NatWest Island Games in Bermuda turned out to be a great success. Records were broken, friendship were made and the Bermuda hospitality will forever stay in the hearts of the competititors and officials. The Games in Bermuda clearly showed that it takes a society to create a successful NatWest Island Games.
From one beautiful island we now move focus to another. In only two years time Jersey will be the host of NatWest Island Games XVI 2015. The Games will define Jersey and will put pressure on the island. Not least from the media in the member islands and beyond. The NatWest Island Games will define Jersey from now until then and will make an impact that will last forever.
On behalf of the International Island Games Association I handed over the official flag to Phil Austin, chairman of the Jersey Organising Committee, last Friday at the Closing Ceremony in Hamilton, Bermuda. I rest assured he will create a great Games in 2015 but he will not be able to do that by himself. He will need the help from his Organising Committee, Government and, more important than anything else, the whole of the society of Jersey. Now is the opportunity to tell your island friends that you have opened your island in order to become friends in sport. NatWest Island Games bring islands together. The Host Islands make the friendship flourish!
