More Honours for Islanders.

Gibraltar Gibraltar IGA Vice President Harry Murphy, a well known clay pigeon shooter and Games competitor was rewarded by Her Majesty in her Birthday Honours List with an MBE for his services to sport. Harry has been on the Gibraltar Island Games Committee since they joined the Games Family in 1987 and has competed in clay pigeon shooting at every Games since, winning 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 5 Bronze medals. Harry has also been the Secretary of the Gibraltar Commonwealth Games Association for 16 years and has attended 4 Commonwealth Games as a shooter since 1994 winning 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals. St Helena Mrs. Yon, wife of St Helena IGA Chairman Gilbert Yon was awarded the OBE for services with the St Helena Government where she reached the heights of Acting Governor (the first St Helenian) and will be going to receive her medal at Buckingham Palace mid 2009.
